When the king of Siam, in the musical "The King & I", is unable to articulate the future, he mandates "etc., etc., etc.".
Hence, the title of this senior theatre company which truly was unsure of the direction it was taking; nonetheless, since its inception in 2003, it has participated in over 25 productions.
Founder and director Dolores Kane says that the path has veered every which way. "We do everything from musicals to living history productions that we research and write. This year particularly we felt as though we were living out of a trunk as we travelled from Baltimore to Bowling Green for a re-enactment of the wedding of Champ Clark's daughter in 1915 which attracted over 8,000 Missouri guests."
Then it was off to Central Baptist Church to perform the original work "Harriet", written by Kane, based on the life of Dred Scott's wife whose court case served as the catalyst for the Civil War.
Its most recent production at Forest Park Community College was "Acting Your Age", a pastiche of short plays and musical numbers by, for, and about seniors who don't realize they are.
