No submission forms will be accepted after March 31st.

Performance Restrictions:

There are two performing stages and a choral performance area at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in New Orleans.
** The large casino stage is 65’ by 65’ deep. We will dead hang the main curtain to create a 32’ wide proscenium. No working main curtain.
** If you need a couch, use 3 folding chairs. No scenery is permitted because you only have a 30 minute setup time between shows. The description of your imaginary scenery should be part of your introductory speech.
** All the hand props that you can easily carry on stage are permitted. Remember that this is a festival/conference, not a refined theatre production like you may have at home.
** Lighting will consist of generals up at the beginning and down at the end. There is no time to set lighting cues and the technicians at the casino don’t know your show. Think of this performance in New Orleans as the final run through in your rehearsal room before going to the theatre.
** Remember that there will be a 15 minute Q & A session after your show for the audience while the next show is setting up. As you can see performances also become workshops. We’re all here to learn from each other.
** The smaller stage is in the hotel ballroom. The dimensions are 20’ x 16’ deep. Again, the lighting will be generals up and down. Both stages will have sound reinforcement.
